Plötzlich erscheint das Sein begrenzt
All das ernste Streben, nur vergeudete Zeit
Niemand verstand die lauernde Gefahr
Eine kurze, bittere Botschaft genügte
Und unsere Zukunft war völlig ungewiss
Erstschlag, angeblich die einzige Antwort auf den Konflikt
Blinder Hochmut stellt sich endgültig gegen all das, was ist
Panik übermannt die Sinne, nackter Wahnsinn obsiegt
Niemand wird überleben, wenn dieser Orkan einmal tobt
Verraten, verleugnet und endgültig verloren
Unerträglich schwer wiegt die Erkenntnis
Wer fühlt sich schon geborgen in dieser zerrütteten Welt?
Eine treibende Kraft führt uns hinaus auf die Straße
Gemeinsam waren wir einst immer stark
Ein verzweifelter Appell an die Vernunft ertönt
Doch wer schenkt dem jetzt noch Gehör?
Endlich schwindet der letzte Funke Hoffnung
Ernüchtert sinkt so mancher zu Boden
Alleine Chaos thront am Rande des Abgrunds
Als wir ohnmächtig dem Ende entgegensehen

The second (03:01) I heard that angry bellow gurgling upwards as from the depths of hell, conquering the composition, rising in intensity, and climaxing more than half a minute later (a geyser of blood spouting up from Tartaros, breaching subterranean roofs and spewing forth onto the face of the earth), I was engrossed hook, line and sinker. Drawn into the underworldly dark. Vocal performances like these never fail to conjure a grin on my face.
